UNATT in keeping with its mandate and commitment to the implementation of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) continues to focus on initiatives which support these efforts. This year UNATT’s major fund raising project underscores its thrust for sustainable development and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), especially MDG 7 (Ensure Environmental Sustainability) and MDG 8 (Develop a Global Partnership for Development).
Consequently, the National Executive is proud to announce that the 2009 Christmas Collection will feature extremely creative, uniquely designed, “eco-friendly, tree free, plantable” greeting cards to the general public. (Read more …). The cards are
- processed chlorine free
- crafted solely from wholly tree free, naturally organic products, such as baggasse (a sugar cane manufacture end product),
- printed with soy and vegetable inks
- coloured using naturally organic colouring agents such as turmeric
- contain flowering seeds.
- biodegradable
- Free from plastic coatings, foil or other components which are harmful to the environment
……sounds impossible…not so with UNATT’s “Eco-friendly’ greeting cards. We are serious these items are truly “tree free” and the cards can be planted to yield beautiful flowers!
We thank you for your support over the years and invite you to support our sustainable development initiatives and join UNATT in helping to reduce our carbon footprints by planting the entire card in soil to eventually grow into shrubbery – a testimony of your love for the environment and your concern for its preservation. Recycle! Reuse! Rejoice! Reduce Green House Gas Emissions! Reinforce our efforts to preserve our environment!
